Swine Flu - Status & Advice (updated 2010-02-22)

Reported Cases at Trinity Court

At present there are no cases of swine flu at Trinity Court.

  • The number of cases amongst our children is 0
  • The number of cases amongst our staff is 0

Early in December 2009 four members of our staff team volunteered as pin-cushions and were vaccinated against swine flu.

Further Information

On Thursday 17th December we were advised that one of our two year old children had been diagnosed with suspected swine flu.

As far as we are aware, this was our first suspected case. It was isolated and the child affected made a full and speedy recovery. No additional cases have been reported.

Action Required

Swine flu has yet to wreak the havoc expected of it and it's important that we avoid complacency. Please follow good hygiene practices and encourage your children to do the same.

In the event of an outbreak the virus could spread very quickly at Trinity Court. If your child has a suspected case of swine flu it is essential that they do not attend Trinity Court. Make contact with your Family Doctor or NHS Direct (0845 4647) for advice. If your case is confirmed please contact us so we can keep others informed.

Status Updates

We will update our flu status pages at least weekly while our status is "Green". If active cases are reported our swine flu page will be updated at least daily.

Classifying our Swine Flu Status

For quick reference, we have graded our swine flu status into four colour bands. These are:

Green

No cases have been reported to us and we are unaware of any suspected cases. Trinity Court is operating as usual.

Amber

Cases (or suspected cases) have been reported to us. These are amongst our children or staff. We are operating a full service at Trinity Court although, if members of staff are affected, some minor disruption may be noticeable to the discerning eye! Please visit our web pages regularly to check on status re-grades.

Red

A significant number of our children or staff have been infected with the virus. Service is disrupted. We request that children do not attend unless absolutely necessary. Our staffing may be severely depleted. Members of staff may be wearing aprons, gloves or masks to limit the spread of infection. Disinfection of surfaces will be occurring regularly. School runs will be running late (if at all). Cooked lunches will probably be unavailable. We are soldiering on but you will not find us at our best! Please visit our web pages regularly to check for status re-grades.

Black

Trinity Court is CLOSED to children. This is a last resort. We have been advised to close by the Health Protection Agency or we have insufficient staff to operate safely. We will re-open as soon as practicable although this may be with a reduced service. Please visit our web pages regularly to check on status re-grades.

Currently, our swine flu status is:

Green

No active cases are reported. Business as usual!
