Moorland Nursery School Fire Engine Visit
On Friday 26th April 2002 acrid fumes bellowed forth from Trinity Court. The children and staff of Moorland Nursery School stood on the car park eagerly awaiting the arrival of the fire brigade.
Thankfully, it emerged that it had been a false alarm. The burning smell was the author preparing lunch and, on their arrival, the crew from Leek fire station reported that there was no (significant) cause for concern.
While they were here, determined not to have wasted a journey, the firemen very kindly introduced our children and staff to Dennis, their fire engine!
(Poetic licence applied for).
