Guy Hilton Asthma Trust
On Tuesday 6th May 2003 children from Moorland Nursery School and TC Club participated in a sponsored balloon launch.
The event was organised in memory of Guy Hilton, a former pupil of our nursery school who died tragically during the Summer of 2002 following an asthma attack. He was aged 12 years.
Children sponsored helium balloons which were launched simultaneously from Trinity Court. The release was timed to coincide with World Asthma Day and organised to raise funds for the Guy Hilton Asthma Trust.

"In view of our connection with Guy and his family we were very keen to support the appeal." said Mrs Shadforth. "We gave considerable thought to choosing a fun activity that could be related to asthma. The launch itself was very spectacular. More spectacular still was the fact that none of the children involved let their balloon go too soon!" [We were very proud of them all!]
The event drew generous contributions from parents and staff with over £100 being raised for the charity so far. In addition, an anonymous benefactor associated with the school has pledged to donate an equal amount to the Guy Hilton Asthma Trust.
As for the balloons: the school has received two calls from individuals recovering them over 30 miles away in Derbyshire!
